Why I Made Spica? (Font Design Area)

Firstly, I made this font to fulfill my final task in Font Design subject. I want to make a geometric sans-serif type face that have purpose for display text with Indonesian element. Then, I found an ancient sign from Sulawesi called LONTARA. I love what it looks slanted, low height, and huge width. 

Inspirations

LONTARA is an ancient symbol from North Sulawesi that usually used for explain the kingdom policy. Usually it written in a leave named Lontar. So, this is explain why this symbol called LONTARA.

the wings of GARUDA has unique shape, that inspire me make some modify into my font.

Characteristic

As you can see, I made Spica more modern. I used basic geomatric element in font. I tried to adapt Lontara element to this font in:

-. like lontara is always have a same volume of grid,

-. there is no vertical line in Lontara

-. but I can’t make it very slanted like Lontara becouse it reduce the legability, but I still I made it slanted, how ever not slanted as the real Lontara
